Meet Our Team

Kristen Pelfrey, LMHC

I am the owner and founder of Pelfrey Counseling Inc. I am a passionate and down to earth therapist with 17 years of experience. I work with adolescents beginning at age 16 through adulthood. I specialize in working with clients who have experienced developmental trauma, PTSD, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, and relationship concerns. I utilize an individualized approach that incorporates aspects of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Somatic Experiencing, Gentle Reprocessing, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) within a safe and supportive space.

Natasha McLeod, MA, RDMT

I am a master's-level clinician and registered dance movement therapist with over 4 years of experience working with individuals ranging from early childhood through late adulthood. I hold a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling with a specialization in dance movement therapy (DMT) from Lesley University.

I have worked in a variety of mental health settings providing support to those managing a wide range of struggles, stressors, and life changes. My specific experience consists of providing therapeutic support in group homes, pediatric behavioral clinics, as well as in an adult in-patient hospitalization program at McLean hospital. I have experience working with anxiety, panic disorder, health anxiety, depression, trauma, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and obsessive-compulsive disorder. I also have experience working with people on the autism spectrum, assisting with support needs specific to each individual.

My undergraduate education in both psychology and dance and performance studies from Roger Williams University started me on my path to discovering the healing power of the holistic modalities. Specifically, I believe that the use of dance movement therapy perspectives in conjunction with more traditional therapeutic modalities, brings the body and spirit into the healing process which is so often overlooked. For this reason, I use aspects of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) and dance movement therapy (DMT) through a person centered and trauma informed lens in my work.

In my sessions I spend time and care building a therapeutic relationship with my clients on the basis of kinesthetic empathy, as well as mutual trust and respect. I aim to empower individuals to become curious about their whole selves including their lived experiences in effort to develop adaptive ways to cope and heal. I operate from the understanding that we are all the experts on ourselves, and my role is to help you find healing and growth in ways that best suit you.

Maegan Lutinski, MA

I am a master's-level clinician with experience working with clients ranging from age 4 to adulthood. I hold a master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Fairfield University. I have gained rewarding experience in private practice working with a wide range of clients who each bring their own unique story.

I have experience working with anxiety, depression, eating disorders, body-image issues, performance anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, adjustment issues, relationship issues, and trauma.

I have a passion for holistic wellness and helping others discover the best version of themselves through exploring physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual components of health.

My therapeutic approach emphasizes active listening while providing a safe and comfortable space for each client to feel heard. I use Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy and Play Therapy. I believe in utilizing each session the way a client wishes it to be used -- whether that is through conversation, meditation, games, laughter…or whatever else the client needs -- I believe the space and time is theirs to grow.

Jordan Ellis, MA

I am a master’s-level clinician with experience working with adolescents, college-age students, and adults in a variety of settings. I obtained a master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Bridgewater State University.

I began my career in the mental health field as a crisis line volunteer with The Samaritans of Cape Cod where I provided support during the COVID-19 pandemic. I have experience in several therapeutic settings including partial hospital and residential treatment programs at McLean Hospital as well as my most recent experience working with college students at Stonehill College.

My work with college students involved supporting students through various difficulties such as trauma, grief and loss, anxiety, stress management, depression, self-esteem, body-image concerns, identity development, relationship concerns, and life transitions.

I am passionate about healing trauma through a framework that not only focuses on traditional talk therapy practices, but incorporates the physical, mental, spiritual, relational, and emotional aspects of trauma. Additionally, I enjoy working with those seeking support for anxiety, adjustment/life transitions, and relational issues. I am trained in Gentle Reprocessing which is a therapeutic approach that reduces symptoms of PTSD, anxiety and depression.

I recognize that therapy can be difficult, so I incorporate humor and genuineness to make it more accessible. By taking a holistic view, I appreciate the full scope of each client’s experiences. Using survivor-led and trauma-informed treatment, I tailor the therapeutic process to suit the unique needs of each person, utilizing various therapeutic techniques.

Through my experiences, I’ve come to trust in my intuition and the therapeutic process itself, consistently proving that healing and personal growth are attainable, despite the unexpected challenges that life may present. I would be honored to work with you through your journey of healing and personal development.
